The service department is terrible. I’m active duty military and usually have my spouse bring the car for oil changes. After the 20K mile oil change the oil light started coming on before the next oil change. By the 40K oil change the oil light was still coming on and we made an appointment and was told the engine was leaking oil and we could pay out of pocket for repairs on a car that was under warranty. I purchased a vehicle from dealership on the Saturday for full MRSP and their website had a discounted price for the same vehicle, identical VIN number. On the Monday i called the sales consultant and informed him of the price difference and was told that they would get back to me. Linda is hands down the best salesperson on the east coast she was able to get me in a good reliable vehicle and helped and met all my needs. Yesterday did not end ad planned.... My wife and I went to Checkered Flag Volkswagen, just to see and test drive a TAOS and TIGUAN.
We were met by Aali in the parking lot, who asked if she could help. And she did - above and beyond expectations.
Her knowledge of the cars and her ability to answer all of our questions made us both leave with an new TIGUAN and a gut feeling, that we were heard.

A friend bought a used car from Volkswagen Checkered Flag. Days later, the wheel fell off while he was driving. Luckily, he was in a parking lot or this would have caused serious injury or death. The issue was determined to be caused by a faulty alignment job performed by Checkered Flag before sale.

Terrible customer service. My husband and I purchased a brand new Atlas 3 months ago. A day after purchasing they had to take our car away to do an upgrade they forgot about. They also had to call several times and have us return to complete paperwork they also forgot about. I've owned VWs, Audis, and Volvos. You'd expect the experience at the Audi and Volvo dealerships to be "better" than at VW but you haven't been to Checkered Flag. Krystl Stern and the other service writers are absolutely the best in the Hampton Roads area. I love the fact that they verify that you know the cost before they start the repairs. I'm always treated with respect and have never felt like I'm being taken advantage of. Highly recommend Checkered Flag VW.
I came in to look at the Atlas. Cristie greeted me at the door and quickly began explaining the process at Checkered Flag- it was much appreciated. Soon after, I met Daniel. This is the second time I purchase a vehicle from Martene and Checkered Flag Hyundai. I just visited this dealership this past Saturday April 7th, 2018 and was assisted by John. Not only did he answer all of my questions, if he didn't know, he found the answer. After driving home in my new beautiful Passat, I was even contacted the next day because a day later they found me an even lower interest rate. You can beat integrity from a salesman. I would have been okay with my higher interest rate but they made my day the next day too when I resigned paperwork with a lower rate!
First time reviewer, long time driver – John C took the effort to explain every feature of the car from the first interaction and was polite and nice to talk with for the entire time the paperwork is being processed, which is a skill in itself. I would recommend Mr. Caddell for anyone new to the car purchase process and who does not want to feel pressured or hassled. Went to look at a car and was greeted by Robert W. Couldn’t find a car that made me feel great in a price I could afford right now. 2017 VW Jetta purchased in 11/2016 from Checkered Flag. I took my car back to Checkered Flag in 2/17 & 4/17 for oil changes & tire rotations. Came back 9/16/17 for an oil change & State inspection only to learn that my front tires were bad. The Bridgestone tires that were on the car when purchased were worn to the silver chords or almost through on the inside front tires.
